Hillyard House is ideally located in central London, south of the River Thames. A purpose-built development for retirement living, it offers 41 self-contained apartments for the over 55s. Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, these spacious apartments are available for rent and offer access to excellent communal facilities. Should your needs change over time, we can adapt the support we offer so that you can continue to live safely and as independently as possible.

All one or two bedroom apartments have a lounge, fully-equipped kitchen with white goods, and bathroom with level access shower. Fully carpeted, you are free to furnish your home as you choose.

With lifts to all floors, there is full wheelchair access throughout Hillyard House. We also offer a  wide range of facilities to support an independent and social lifestyle, including:

Hillyard House has three luxurious communal lounges with kitchenette for making drinks and there is a large TV lounge on the second floor. There are weekly activities sessions, giving you plenty of opportunity to stay active and meet new people. Activities can range from coffee mornings to quizzes and beauty therapy sessions to board games. There is also a multi-purpose room where residents can organise their own entertainment and activities.

Socialise when you want to or enjoy time to yourself relaxing in one of the many indoor or outdoor communal spaces. We encourage a relaxed and comfortable environment for our residents with an excellent community spirit.

At Sanctuary, we pride ourselves on employing the best staff and have stringent recruitment procedures in place. Any care you choose to receive from Sanctuary will be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

Whether you currently have a care need or are simply planning for the future, as long as you are 55 or over and have strong links to the local area, you will be eligible to live in one of our independent living apartments at Hillyard House.

Care and support

For your peace of mind, staff are on site 24 hours a day. We can provide a comprehensive range of personal and domestic care and we will work with you to develop a personalised care plan, if needed. We also provide domestic support at competitive rates, including assistance with shopping, laundry, vaccunming and washing up.

For extra reassurance, all apartments are fitted with an emergency pull cord system that, when activated, immediately alerts the 24-hour care team that you need assistance.

Hillyard House also offers an assisted bathroom, to help you to bathe with the aid of a carer.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England.

The CQC regulate the care provided by the NHS, local authorities, private companies and voluntary organisations. The aim is to make sure better care is provided for everyone - in hospitals, care homes and people's own homes.

The CQC also seek to protect the interests of people whose rights are restricted under the Mental Health Act.
