Situated just one mile from the charming historic city of Ely, which boasts one of the most magnificent cathedrals in England, Baird Lodge offers 35 spacious apartments to rent with a range of on-site services and facilities.

All of our beautifully decorated apartments are suitable for wheelchair access and with its stunning glass fronted atrium, Baird Lodge makes you feel like you are entering a grand hotel.

Designed to offer comfort, independence and peace of mind, each apartment is connected to an alarm call system which links directly to a dedicated care and support team who are on hand 24 hours a day.

All our spacious apartments have their own kitchenette, lounge and bathroom with level access shower.

Each beautifully decorated apartment is wheelchair accessible and is fitted with an alarm call system that connects you to a member of the 24-hour support team who will be on hand day or night.

Baird Lodge has a spacious communal dining area where residents enjoy homemade, freshly baked cakes and savouries and nutritious lunches, all prepared by our professional in-house catering team.

The scheme has its own hairdressing salon, laundry, a quiet communal reading room and guest rooms, as well as a doorstep library service.

Baird Lodge is also conveniently located next door to the Princess of Wales Hospital, a GP surgery and pharmacy.

Communal facilities

We encourage residents to get involved in the activities in both Baird Lodge and the surrounding communities.

Socialise with others when you want to, join in with a range of activities, introduce new ones or simply enjoy private time to yourself.

Our beautifully furnished communal lounge is a hub of activity, with regular exercise classes, guest speakers, games and craft afternoons, knitting clubs, film and music sessions and residents’ meetings. Scheme outings to places chosen by our residents are also organised on a regular basis.

Some of the activities we have helped to organise for our residents include:

Baird Lodge is staffed 24 hours a day by highly trained and experienced support workers.

At Sanctuary, we pride ourselves on employing the best staff and have stringent recruitment procedures in place.

Whether you currently have a care need or are simply planning for the future - if you are 55 or over and reside in, or have a family connection to the local area, you will be eligible for an apartment.

Please note: care and support services at this scheme are provided by Radis Community Care.

Care and support

Having as much independence as you want and the reassurance that if your needs change you will be fully supported means that you can focus on living your life to the full.

Personal and domestic care is provided by Radis Community Care who can help you at home with anything you need including shopping, laundry, housework, personal care and prescription collection. Sanctuary staff are on-site and provide housing management and support.

For extra peace of mind, your apartment will have an emergency pull cord system that, when activated, immediately alerts the 24-hour care team that you need assistance. Pendant alarms are available if required.
